Justin started in banking in 1988 and financial planning in 1991. He founded Eclipse FS in 2003 in partnership with a local accounting firm, and in 2008 bought out his partners so that he and his wife Susan now own the firm outright and deal with many accounting firms. His focus is on running the firm, and his financial planning specialties are self-employed people with complex financial situations and high net worth clients. Justin has lived in the Whitsundays since 1992, is married to Susan with three children at Cannonvale State School and enjoys touch, golf, fishing and watching sports. He is a long-term committee member of the Whitsunday Sportspark in Airlie Beach with a passion for developing this uniquely placed facility for the benefit of the whole town.
Steve Obst
Executive Financial Planner

Steve started with Westpac in his hometown of Toowoomba in 1989. He transferred across the state, enjoying small branches like Texas, Normanton, Bowen and Airlie Beach before ending up in Townsville and specialising in Financial Planning from 1996. Steve left the bank and worked for a financial planning firm in Townsville in 2004 and joined the Eclipse group in 2020. Steve has now relocated to the Whitsundays, where he specialises in retirement strategies.
Steve has a daughter and is an avid outdoorsman with a genuine love of fishing, hunting and camping, and he serves the community through his long history as a volunteer with the SES.

Financial Services has been a passion of mine since 2008, and following a successful and extensive career with roles in Senior Director Leadership and Account Management within corporate Australia, I have followed my heart and desire to help everyday Australians to meet their life and financial goal. Combining this experience and my passion is precisely why we launched Eclipse Financial Services expansion in South East Queensland in the first place. Our mission is to help you take control and make the correct financial decisions with your money, to better plan for the future and have the freedom to enjoy your “Best Life”. Sure, money is important, but it’s the effective planning and management which allows it to be the enabler of a better life.
At Eclipse Financial Services, assisting everyday Australians from many diverse backgrounds meet their goals to grow, maintain and protect their wealth through providing the highest quality advice in a manner that’s valued and understood is our core purpose. As a lifelong learner, I’m also fully committed to keeping abreast of the constant changes in the world of finance and economics, holding a Master’s Degree in Applied Finance, Diploma of Financial Services, Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and I’m currently studying to achieve my Masters of Financial Planning. Plus attending over 70 hours of continuing professional education every year. I am also an Associate Member of the FPA – Financial Planning Association and a “Tax Adviser” with the TPB – Tax Practitioners Board. When I’m not working, besides spending quality time with my young son Leon, I am interested in travel, water sports, and snowboarding is a real passion.
Jake Flaherty

Jake has been a Whitsunday local since 2007, working in technical and mechanical services in Airlie Beach and out at the mines. Following his interest in finances, Jake started a Bachelor of Economics in 2017 and completed his degree, majoring in Financial Planning in 2021. Jake has been with the Eclipse group since 2019; his strong, analytical mind coupled with his love of helping people puts him in good stead as a Financial Planner.
Jake has a wife and three boys, loves to read, and is a longstanding player and senior member of the Whitsunday United Football Club.
Natasha De Marchi
Administration
Natasha joined the Eclipse team in 2018 for a career change after many years in pharmacy management in Airlie Beach. Natasha is the glue that binds the Eclipse team together, coordinating phone and reception duties across offices, assisting Renee with the more specialised financial planning work and admin jobs across the various business units. Natasha has called the Whitsundays home since 1999 and is married with two kids who both attend Cannonvale State School.
Leeanne Sanderson
New Business Manager
Leeanne has more than 25 years of administration, bookkeeping and customer service experience. She moved to the Whitsundays in 1999 to take up the role of Personal Assistant to the General Manager of Hamilton Island, later starting a family on the mainland. After providing contract administration and bookkeeping services to the Tourism, Marine, Local Government and Mining industries for many years, Leeanne joined Eclipse FS in 2015. She is the company bookkeeper and covers the contract bookkeeping services Eclipse provides to various sporting clubs. A long-term resident of Jubilee Pocket with one child at Proserpine State High School, Leeanne enjoys art, entertaining and paddling her kayak around the beautiful waters of the Whitsundays.
